Every setting

What each tab in Settings controls, in the order they appear. A manager sees most of it; four tabs are the owner's.

The tabs

TabWhoWhat it controls
Your pageManagerLogo, photographs, description, address and map note, phone, social links, amenities, and your booking link with its QR code.
ServicesManagerThe price list: name, duration, price, group, buffers, processing gaps, whether it can be booked online and whether it can be done at a customer's place.
Who does whatManagerWhich services each person performs, with their own duration or price where it differs. Nobody is bookable until they appear here.
HoursManagerOpening hours per day, each person's working hours within them, and one-off exceptions for a day off or a late start.
Home visitsManagerThe areas you travel to, with travel time and travel fee for each.
Chairs & basinsManagerPhysical things a service needs and cannot share. Skip it unless something in your place is genuinely scarce.
CommissionManagerA percentage per person, with overrides per service. Applied to the line total after discounts.
Coming backManagerYour review link, the nudge when somebody is due for their next visit, and the note after a long absence.
OffersManagerDiscount codes, their limits, and what each campaign has given away.
PackagesManagerPrepaid bundles: what is in one, what it costs, how long it lasts, and whether it is sold online.
ClubManagerA fee each period and the standing discount it buys, plus how many members are paid up.
TeamOwnerWho works here, their role, whether they are bookable, and their password.
PaymentsOwnerYour own Fonepay or Khalti keys, live or test, and whether they are offered at the till.
Bills and taxOwnerYour registered name, your PAN if you have one, and — only once there is a PAN — VAT registration, rate and abbreviated invoices.
SalonManagerHow bookings work: how often times are offered, how far ahead, shortest notice, same-day bookings, cancellation notice, online payments and deposits.
Somebody working on their own does not see Team, Who does what, Chairs & basins or Commission — there is nobody else to arrange — and the last tab is called Business rather than Salon.

The settings worth thinking about twice

  • How often times are offered (Salon). Every fifteen minutes fills a day tightly and leaves odd gaps; every thirty is easier to run and easier to read. Change it and look at your booking page before deciding.
  • Shortest notice (Salon). How close to now somebody may book. Too short and a customer arrives before anybody has seen the booking; too long and you lose the person who wants a cut this afternoon.
  • How far ahead (Salon). Two weeks suits most salons. Longer only makes sense if your rota is genuinely known that far out.
  • Cancellation notice (Salon). The window inside which a cancellation is recorded as late. It does not stop anybody cancelling — it records which kind it was.
  • Durations (Services). The single most common cause of a day running late is a price list that is optimistic about how long things take.
  • Buffers (Services). Cleanup time that the customer does not pay for and cannot see, but that the diary respects.

Things that are deliberately not settings

  • Your booking address. Fixed when the account is made, because it is printed on cards.
  • Whether a settled bill can be edited. It cannot, by anybody, ever. See the till.
  • Whether a customer can skip a deposit. If you ask for one, it is asked for.
  • Sending a campaign to your whole customer list. Not built, and not planned — the reason is here.
